Founder & CEO
Mr. Babacar GUEYE
Mr. GUEYE has thirty years of proven experience in the management of forest resources and the fight against forest delinquency. GUEYE was the initiator of community forest management as national coordinator of the Pilot Forest Management Scheme project from 1995 to 1998, financed by French cooperation. It is the Pilot Plan which defined the first methods of involving rural populations and communities in the implementation of forest management plans. Local forest management structures took shape through memorandums of understanding between villages and rural councils.
Mr. GUEYE also served as national coordinator of the USAID Agriculture Natural Resource Management program better known as USAID Wula Nafaa, which greatly contributed to scaling up community forest management and strengthening local governance for sustainable management of natural resources. For example, Wula Nafaa has managed over five hundred thousand (500,000) hectares of community forests, designed and implemented local governance tools and developed value chains for non-timber forest products.
Doctor Momar Mbaye
Geographer bioiverity climate change and forest management
Dr Momar Mbaye, an icon of forest resource mapping and the development of forest management plans. Mbaye has worked on the development of numerous forest management plans in Senegal (mapping, inventory, plot) and their implementation in the regions of Kolda, Sédhiou, Tambacounda and Ziguinchor.
Mr. MBAYE has extensive experience in fisheries management and the organization of local artisanal fishing committees.
Papa Assane Ndiour
Forestry, expert in forest management
Papa Assane Ndiour, who was head of the regional forestry service in the regions of Tambacounda and Kédougou, regional manager of PROGEDE in Kolda and Tambacounda. Mr. Ndiour participated in the identification of forest areas to be developed. He had to coordinate the creation of management committees for community biodiversity reserves (monitoring committee, management committee and committee of wise men), the development and implementation of participatory and integrated forest management plans as well as plans management of community biodiversity reserves.
Mr. NDIOUR is also a recognized specialist in monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning. He has a perfect mastery of forest governance tools, organization of populations and municipalities in forest management
Soulèye Ndiaye
Specialist in protected areas and conservation
Mr. NDIAYE also has more than thirty years of experience in the management of national parks and the conservation of biodiversity. NDIAYE was curator of the Niokolo Koba National Park (PNNK) and twice director of national parks in Senegal. NDIAYE's experience is immeasurable and his reputation international.
Mr. NDIAYE is also a recognized specialist in the protection of great apes and endangered species.
Madame Mbaye Bineta Diop
Expert in Domestic Energy, Specialist in Improved Homes and Alternatives to Wood Energy
Ms. MBAYE also has more than fifteen years of experience in the fields of domestic energy, notably improved stoves, bio digesters and bio charcoal; planning and management activities for domestic energy demand. She also worked on energy efficiency, gender and energy, and energy statistics as well as the Energy-Senegal information system (SIE) and the UEMOA SIE, the planning of energy policy documents including the Letter of Energy Sector Policy and Development (LPDSE).
Saloum Cissokho
Social development and local governance specialist
Saloum Cissokho, who has extensive experience in local government governance and natural resource management. Saloum is one of the precursors of local conventions based on a land use and land use plan (POAS) and a code of conduct on the management of local natural resources. He has carried out around ten local conventions for a total area of around one million hectares.
Samba Laobé Ndao
Cartographer and geomatician
Mr. Ndao, who has thirty years of experience, is an icon in forest resource mapping. He is one of the leading specialists in this field and has worked in almost all forestry development projects. Ndao is currently a part-time lecturer at the Department of Hydrology and Sanitation at the University of Thiès where he teaches modular courses on cartography, remote sensing and geographic information system (GIS).
